2017 Annual Leadership Meeting

June 1-5, 2017 in New York City

Congregational leadership from our 13 communities will come together in New York City June 1-5, 2017 for the Sisters of Charity Federation Annual Leadership Meeting, hosted by the Sisters of Charity of New York. The theme this year will be “Hazard Yet Forward: Futuring Charity Together,” inspired in part by Saint Elizabeth Seton’s famous words and the bond of practicing charity together as women religious.

NGO Meeting: Wednesday, May 31 at 1 PM until noon on Friday, June 2
Orientation New Members: Thursday, June 1, 3-5 PM
Leadership: Thursday, June 1 at 7 PM until noon on Monday, June 5
Federation Board Meeting: Monday, June 5, 1 – 4 PM

We will spend these days deepening our interconnectedness as a Federation by:
Identifying and honoring the diversity among us
Recognizing our current reality
Articulating the implications as we live into our shared future

On June 2nd, Sister Teresa Kotturan, our NGO Rep, will present on the issue of Migration and Refugees, with a special focus on the impacts on women and children. We will hear from several NGO Liaisons as well.

Six congregations will share their report on the promotion of systemic change in one of their ministries: Halifax, Our Lady of Mercy, the Marthas, Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur, Nazareth and Seton Hill.

Sister Florence Hee, OSF, will facilitate the contemplative listening and prayer to deepen our interconnectedness and focus our action as a Federation living into our shared future.
