9th Annual Nuns Build in New Orleans with SBP

Each year Sisters from across the country, along with their friends and families, come to help rebuild the city of New Orleans, now in the 11th year of its projected 20-year recovery. We invite you to be a part of Nuns Build 2016: Women Religious Making a Difference!, which will take place November 14-17.

Skilled on-site supervisors teach volunteers everything they need to know. No construction experience necessary. Sisters of all skill levels are encouraged to participate. Nuns Build is partnering with the Saint Bernard Project (SBP), who has rebuilt over 635 homes in New Orleans and over 1,100 homes nationwide in other disaster affected areas.

Help rebuild for families still struggling to return home 11 years after Hurricane Katrina. Help address the housing crisis left in Katrina’s wake by transforming abandoned and blighted lots into affordable homes for 1st time home buyers.

The people of New Orleans need your help! Come volunteer and let this city welcome you the way only New Orleans can!

To sign up for Nuns Build visit: Sisters and associates part of the Sisters of Charity Federation are welcome to stay at the House of Charity on a first come first serve basis. For more information on Nuns Build activities, contact Sister Monica Gundler, SCC at (513) 504-5592 or e-mail
